1. COVID-19 PLAN 

Canada Snowboard’s 2021 Major Events and World Cups will be held in COVID-19 Risk Managed Environments. 

In order to ensure the health and safety for the athletes and team personnel, the LOC is working in accordance with the Regional and National Health regulations as well as with FIS in accordance with the FIS COVID-19 Prevention Organiser Guidelines together with the World Health Organisation (WHO) information and recommendations. The LOC and FIS Event Task Force has been established and is monitoring all developments. The corresponding arrangements are currently being put together in a separate document. This will be published and communicated by the LOC at a later stage. All competitors must have their own medical insurance (ICR art 212) which shall cover COVID-19 medical treatment expenses. Updated COVID-19 relevant medical procedures that may be required will be communicated whenever relevant.

2. ENTRIES & KEY FORMS 

Entry for the Snowboard World Cup will be accepted in accordance with the FIS quotas and rules for the World Cups and must be processed by the National Snow Sports Association:

3. REGISTRATION AND TEAM CAPTAIN MEETINGS

Registration for the World Cups will be done digitally. Details to be provided once entry is done through the FIS Registration and Entry system. 

All payments should be done pre the event arrival date digitally to avoid face to face registration. Payment onsite will be possible but is discouraged. Details to be provided once registered. 

Team Captain Meetings will be done both on site at the event hotel and digitally through Zoom. Details to be provided to teams pre-event.

5. WORLD CUP QUOTAS

FIS WC Rule 2.3

World Cup Quotas (SS, BA)

Big Air and Slopestyle World Cup events will have a maximum field size of 30 women and 60 men. City Big Air World Cup events will have maximum field size of 30 women and 50 men.
Nations may not transfer their unused quota spots from one gender to the other.

 

6. PARTICIPATION FEE 

The Participation Fee will have to be submitted to the event organizers by the payment deadline by credit card   

The fees per competitor are all in Swiss Francs -  CHF.

FIS WC RULE

2.2.4  Participation Fee for Snowboard Slopestyle WC
A mandatory Participation Fee (competitors only) of a maximum of CHF 30 per official training and competition day will be charged to all entered competitors, based on the program in the official invitation. The invitation should clearly state the total amount to be paid by each competitor and event. The total amount cannot be more than CHF 120 per competitor.
Double participation (e.g. HP and SS): the participation fee only has to be paid once (e.g. 2 x Training-, 1 Qualification-, 1 Final day) or respectively up to the maximum of CHF 120.
In case the Qualification and the Finals are on the same day, the participation fee has to be paid for one day only.

 

7. ACCOMMODATIONS

8. MEALS 

1/2 Board is provided at the Hyatt at the FIS World Cup room rate. Eat your Breakfast and Dinner like a boss. 

 

9. TRANSPORTATION

Information to be provided closer to the event start date. 

 

10. BIBS 

All competitors must wear Canada Snowboard training bibs during official training and return them in order to receive the official event bib for competition and award ceremonies. 

 

11. EQUIPMENT STORAGE

Information to be provided closer to the event start date. 

 

12. LIABILITY 

All athletes, officials and other members of their National Sport Association who attend and  participate in the event shall do so at their own risk.  

The OC, WinSport, the Canadian Snowsports Association, FIS, Freestyle Canada, Canada  Snowboard, sponsors and suppliers, their agents, employees and volunteers, shall not be held  responsible for any losses or injuries incurred or suffered by any athlete, official or other person  in conjunction with the organization or staging of the event. All participants are urged not to be negligent in safeguarding their personal belongings at all times. The aforementioned parties will take  no responsibility for missing belongings.

 

13. ACCIDENT INSURANCE PROTOCOL + COVID-19 TRAVEL INSURANCE

Each competitor must have his/her own medical and COVD-19 Travel Insurance. The Organizing Committee, WinSport,  Canadian Snowsports Association, FIS, Freestyle Canada, Canada Snowboard, sponsors and  suppliers decline any responsibility for accidents, damaged equipment, and second and third party  claims during the event.  

In the case of accidents on course during the event, medical personnel from the OC and Ski Patrol  personnel will be responsible for any medical decision or evacuation to the local hospital in cooperation with the National Sport Associations’ medical personnel identified on the entry form.

COVID-19 Travel Insurance information will need to be provided for each athlete and service personnel to the organizing committee upon registration.  

 

14. MEDICAL & ANTI-DOPING  

Anti-doping control may be conducted for each discipline and gender, in accordance with  the rules and regulations set forth by FIS. 

 

15. PRIZE MONEY 

All prize money will be issued following the new FIS prize money process. NSAs must manage all information required for prize money using the FIS Athlete Registration module in the FIS member section. All bank information MUST be uploaded to the FIS database prior to Finals. Athletes without the correct bank information uploaded to the FIS system will experience a delay in prize money bank transfer. The winners will receive prize money via bank transfer only (no checks). In order to process the prize money, all winners must provide valid bank details and identification.

Men & Women’s FIS World Cup Slopestyle event. 25,000 CHF
will be awarded per gender, for each event. Prize money will
be awarded to the top 10 men and top 10 women.

16. PRIZE MONEY TRANSFERS

The winners will receive their money via bank transfer.  

Athletes will be digitally notified immediately following the event finals day to provide details in order to claim their prize money.  

 

17. VISAS FOR ENTRY INTO CANADA

Canada’s borders are opening in a staged manner to fully vaccinated international travellers. As the COVID-19 situation is always changing please read the government of Canada's latest information below. Canada Snowboard will be doing everything in our power to assist competitors and teams to gain the easiest possible entry permits but are 100% controlled by government regulation. It is very clear however that in order to access Canada for major events in 2021 / 2022 everyone will require being fully vaccinated with one of the Canadian Government’s approved vaccines to avoid long quarantine requirements.
